Bayit Management in Indiana, PA is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of our apartment homes and community areas.
Position Summary :
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting repairs, and responding to service requests in a timely and professional manner. You will work closely with the property management team to ensure the community’s maintenance needs are met, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for all residents.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks in apartment units and common areas, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repairs.
- Respond to maintenance requests from residents and complete work orders efficiently.
- Conduct routine inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs and ensure safety compliance.
- Assist with the turnover of units between residents, including repairs and preparation for new occupants.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, plumbing issues, electrical systems, and general apartment maintenance problems.
- Maintain grounds, common areas, and amenities by conducting regular cleaning, landscaping, and seasonal tasks (snow removal, pool maintenance, etc.).
- Collaborate with the property management team to maintain an organized inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and relevant codes.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency maintenance.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in maintenance-related fields (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar role within residential or commercial properties.
- Strong working knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Good communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
- Physical stamina to perform hands-on maintenance tasks, including lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
