Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support communication development in a K-12 school environment by providing specialized assistance to students with diverse speech and language needs. This onsite role offers the opportunity to work closely with students exhibiting moderate to severe behavioral challenges, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and various speech disorders.
Location: New Oxford, PA
Position Type: Contract for the school year
Hours: 35 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with speech-language pathologists to implement individualized communication plans.
- Support students with a range of speech and language needs, including those with ASD and behavioral challenges.
- Assist in managing and adapting strategies to address moderate to severe student behaviors.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with the educational team.
Qualifications:
- Active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) certification approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education Board.
- Experience working with children in K-12 settings, particularly those with complex speech and behavioral needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with students, educators, and families.
