Barback/Food Runner
Sampan , a flagship concept within Schulson Collective, is seeking a dynamic and hospitality‑driven Food Runner / Barback to join our award‑winning team. This hybrid role is essential to maintaining the seamless flow of service, supporting both the Front‑of‑House and Beverage teams, and ensuring our guests experience the high‑energy, refined atmosphere that defines Sampan.
About the Role
The Food Runner / Barback plays a critical part in the guest experience by delivering dishes with precision, supporting servers and bartenders, and maintaining the efficiency and cleanliness of the bar and service stations. This position is ideal for individuals looking to grow within a fast‑paced, chef‑driven environment and gain exposure to both culinary and beverage operations.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver dishes to guests with accuracy, speed, and polished presentation
Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow
Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, expo areas, and the bar
Restock bar supplies, juices, garnishes, glassware, and inventory throughout service
Support bartenders with prep, breakdown, and daily operational needs
Uphold Sampan’s service standards, hospitality expectations, and brand voice
Assist with clearing tables, resetting sections, and maintaining overall floor readiness
Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and DOH standards
Previous restaurant experience preferred, ideally in a high‑volume or chef‑driven concept
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
A guest‑first mindset with attention to detail and a commitment to hospitality
Ability to multitask, stay organized, and maintain composure during peak service
