THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services (DHS) is looking for an energetic and dynamic Clerical Supervisor to join our team. In this vital role, you will oversee clerical operations at the Clarion County Assistance Office (CAO), ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for planning and assigning tasks and distributing work effectively among the clerical staff. You will provide training on office practices, procedures, and equipment usage. Additionally, you will communicate DHS policies and procedures to ensure that staff understand and adhere to local guidelines. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing documents processed by your team to verify their completeness, accuracy, and timeliness. You will have the opportunity to offer leadership and guidance on customer assistance processes, procedures, and techniques. Regular one-on-one meetings and unit conferences will be part of your duties, along with monitoring time and attendance records and managing leave requests in accordance with operational needs and leave balances. Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting management with opening and closing building duties, as well as reporting to and assisting the Butler/Clarion IMA3.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Clarion. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or

  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
