Advantage Sales & Supply Co., LLC, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Import Logistics and Procurement Coordinator to join our team!
Job Summary:
The Import Logistics and Procurement Coordinator oversees import logistics functions and is responsible for assisting in purchasing products, manufacturing and production materials, office and warehouse supplies and equipment. The Import Logistics and Procurement Coordinator will work closely with the financial team to facilitate timely payments and a budgeting schedule.
Essential Functions:
Import Logistics Coordinator
· Coordinates the quoting process for overseas suppliers, assigns Purchase Orders (POs) to appropriate vendors, and schedules shipments to ensure delivery deadlines are met.
· Reviews POs and shipping documents to ensure accuracy and submits shipping documents to Forwarding Agents/Customs brokers for ocean shipments.
· Manages all container shipments to ensure customs and freight is cleared, confirm timely delivery to the port and coordinate the final truck delivery to warehouse/drop ship location.
· Assists customer service/sales representatives with order status inquiries and special customer needs.
· Assists the receiving/inventory team when necessary for receipt and verification of compliance of goods or inventory adjustments.
· Maintains accurate and updated information in Rubicon software and Company files.
· Establishes relationships with vendors, international brokers, and trucking companies.
· Assists in negotiating freight rates targeting cost reduction, freight savings and service.
· Assists in developing and documenting processes that make the inventory control and supply chain more efficient and organized.
Purchasing
· Coordinates with various internal departments to ensure timely delivery, reduce stock outs of items and eliminate unnecessary purchases and shipping charges.
· Conducts research on current and potential products, vendors, and services while comparing prices and quality to ensure the best deal.
· Maintains relationships with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and to oversee the integrity and quality of delivered goods.
· Coordinates with delivery and warehouse teams to ensure goods are received on time.
· Manages purchasing expenses with meticulous record-keeping.
· Assists the receiving team when necessary for receipt and verification of compliance of goods.

- Willing to travel to various work sites or training as required

- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures and comply with the Company’s “Stop Work” policy
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designation operations and production areas as directed
- Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and Supervisor with other duties as required
Education and Experience
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- One to two years of experience.
Working Conditions, Hours, Travel
- Most work is performed in an office/warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets.
- This is a full-time position. The standard hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Travel to visit customers within in region as well as occasional travel for meetings or training outside the region is expected for this position.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions
- Must be able to lift up to 45lbs
- Requires the visual ability to perform detailed work at close distances (computer screens, accounting ledgers, using measurement devices).
- This job regularly requires verbal communication of detailed information to others either by phone or in person.
- Must be able to speak and read the English language
