Position Summary :

Responsible for ensuring all McCain Foods Easton facilities automatic and manual Fire Protection Systems (fire hydrants, PIV’s (Post Indicator Valves), sprinkler systems, fire hoses, alarm systems, alarm systems, alarm panels, fire pumps-electric and diesel, fryer systems, etc.) are in proper working order at Plant 1, 2 and supporting utilities areas. Estimate and maintain facility needs for Kosher and Non-Kosher oils.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in areas of training that deal with Fire Protection Systems, Fire Extinguishers, Hot Work Permit program, and emergency Evacuation Procedures.

• Be available to answer any questions from any outside auditors or our insurance carrier.

• Be available to assist in taking local fire departments though the plant on a semi-annual basis to help familiarize them with the plant layout.

• Be available to assist outside service in performing quarterly inspection of the Fire Protection System.
• Clean and repair all equipment as needed to keep it in proper working order.
• Follow-up with the manager and supervisor involved with any permit that is not filled out correctly to make sure that the people involved are trained to do it correctly.

• From time to time this person will assist in working on the computer in various areas of Safety, Security and Fire Protection issues.
  • Update Brady Lockout/Tagout procedures for the facility.
  • Monitor Contractors to make sure they are in compliance with our Hot Work Procedures.
  • Notify anyone that is performing any Hot Work in areas that are affected by any Red Tag impairment.
  • Notify electrical department of any repairs that are needed.

• Perform monthly flushing of outside Fire Hydrants and inspect Test Stations, and maintain records.

Qualifications:

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Experience

Minimum three months related experience and/or training.

Physical Demand:

Constant: required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.

Frequently: lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Occasionally: required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
