We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated individuals to join our Fry Team! This is a hands-on position in which the incumbent will be trained to learn the operations of a printing press. The Press Departments main duties involve the handling of all printed material. Some of the duties include but are not limited to the bundling, skidding and tagging of all good copies, weighing of bad copied, performing duties as described in the daily job assignments and assisting the press crews in other ways as directed. Other responsibilities are coordinating the production schedule with the Pressman, setting up and operating the stacker for the production run, setting a trim box and scale up for each run, keeping the paper segregated by type; tagging trim boxes according to established procedures; assisting in setting up jobs; continuously inspecting signatures for bad folds, gusssets, cut-off marks, scumming, tears, etc. Performing assigned weekly maintenance, washing blankets, rollers , ink fountains, etc. Keeping the work area organized and clean; assisting the Roll Tender in webbing up the press; at the end of each shift, emptying oil pans, emptying trash and filling filling solvent cans. The incumbent will typically work a twelve hour shifts during which they can expect to be standing or walking over ninety percent of the time. Duties require working in close proximity to moving production machinery and subjection to noise hazards requiring protective hearing devices.
