About the Role : The Plant Health Care Technician plays a key role in protecting and improving the health of our clients’ landscapes. This position blends hands-on fieldwork with diagnostic skill, customer communication, and a commitment to high-quality service. You’ll work independently and as part of a team to deliver treatments, monitor plant health, and support long-term landscape success.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform plant health care services including fertilization, pest and disease management, soil amendments, and trunk injections.
• Diagnose plant health issues such as nutrient deficiencies, insect activity, disease presence, and environmental stress.
• Safely operate and maintain PHC equipment (sprayers, injectors, spreaders, etc.).
• Document services, observations, and recommendations using company systems.
• Communicate professionally with clients when needed to explain findings or answer questions.
• Assist with tree and shrub care tasks as needed, supporting the broader BetterScapes team.
• Follow all safety protocols, label requirements, and environmental best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping, arboriculture, horticulture, or plant health care preferred (but willing to train the right candidate).
• Ability to identify common trees, shrubs, insects, and diseases—or interest in learning.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain PA pesticide applicator certification - category 6 (company-supported).
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a customer-first mindset.
