Position Summary

The Behavioral Consultant (BC) provides clinical oversight, conducts assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, supervises Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs), and supports families in implementing therapeutic strategies. Services are delivered in accordance with IBHS regulations, evidence-based best practices, and culturally responsive care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and clinical observations
• Develop and implement individualized behavioral intervention plans
• Supervise BHTs, including coaching, feedback, and support
• Collect, analyze, and document behavioral data; maintain progress notes
• Collaborate with treatment teams, families, and community partners
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, ABA, or related field
• Licensed candidate is preferred but not required
• Experience with children/adolescents with behavioral or developmental needs
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to travel to client service locations
• Familiarity with CANS, ATEC and Treatment Plan creation
• Experience supervising BHTs.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Primarily indoor work in office, school, and home settings; local travel required
• Moderate physical activity: sitting, standing, walking
• Ability to observe client behaviors and implement crisis interventions
• Potential exposure to aggressive behaviors, infectious diseases, and community hazards

Requirements

• To supervise BHTs monthly
• Attend in-person company meetings and training sessions throughout the year- typically quarterly
• Timely submission of paperwork including assessments, treatment plans, and Intake packets. To assure up to date treatment of clients and authorizations.
