Head of Medical Affairs Region Americas
The Head of Medical Affairs Region Americas operates as the Medical Affairs VACC leader for the Americas. The role oversees all medical activities in the region and may be responsible for clinical trials on marketed products, product line extensions, and products under development. Supports product launches and ensures proper information distribution, documentation, labeling, and promotional materials for marketed products in compliance with corporate standards and government/industry regulations. The incumbent reports to the Global Medical Affairs Head and will be a member of the Radiology MALT.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of the Head of Medical Affairs Region Americas, are:

Will act as regional representative of Medical Affairs (MA) Radiology and provide strategic scientific and operational advice to regional/local marketing and country medical functions in Region Americas.

Contributes to the overall regional strategy through development and implementation of a tailored medical strategy, as well as through optimizing medical processes and activities.

Provides leadership and scientific insight to Region Americas, covers medical support for contrast media, devices and digital brands and has oversight of medical governance including all relevant processes, audits and inspections.

Executes andapplies the global perspective and leadership on a regional level in the Americas.

Leads the strategic discussion of scientific topics in the region; representing Medical Affairs (MA) in the Americas.

Leads the development of a regional medical plan in cooperation with local medical representatives, Central MA as well as the Americas Leadership Team.

Acts as "broker" between local medical affairs and global medical affairs,

Supports sustainability of the Region by managing medical/scientific activities in alliance with the overall Bayer Radiology strategy and complying with the relevant processes.

Identifies common educational needs within region Americas and proposes opportunities to address them. Provides strategic review of IIR/PASS studies and safeguards that these are in line with global/regional strategy and Bayer governance.

Leads and coordinates the discussion with and the development of Regional Thought Leaders (TLs).

Represents Radiology's viewpoint on products to thought leaders, scientific advisors, health authorities and to other external stakeholders.

Provides regional medical and scientific assessment / guidance of in and out licensing opportunities of development and marketed projects.
WHO YOU ARE
The incumbent is a highly successful physician with extensive professional and academic experience. Key competencies needed by the candidate include the following:
Required Qualifications:

Medical Degree is required.
-
Successful track record in the pharmaceutical sector, with Medical Affairs experience.

Good understanding of drug development and commercialization process.
-
Good understanding of regulations and pharmacovigilance with advanced knowledge of international pharmaceutical laws, standards and codices.

Proven leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills.
-
Outstanding leader who works collaboratively with cross functions focusing on continuous improvement and excellence.
-
Complexity solving personality who demonstrates ethical medical decision making.
-
Incumbents must embrace change and be able to work in a changing environment.
-
Experience of effectively managing risk and compliance issues.
-
Experience of managing teams across cultures and geographies.
-
Executes his/her responsibilities with knowledge, accuracy, persistence, resilience and creativity seeking to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:

Imaging training and board certification.
-
10+ years working in the pharmaceutical sector with at least 5+ years working in Medical Affairs.

US experience.
Eligible employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $274,700 to $412,000. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
