Material Handling Equipment Mechanic — Electric & Manual Pallet Jacks
Keep our promise of quality moving
Dietz & Watson began in 1939 with Gottlieb Dietz and a simple conviction: quality above all. Today, that promise depends on skilled technicians who keep our material handling fleet running at its best—safely, efficiently, and ready for the next load.
Your impact
Picture this: a chilled production room at 32°F, a busy line, and a pallet jack that can’t afford downtime. You step in, assess wear and damage, reference technical manuals, and use diagnostics to locate the fault. Whether it’s an electrical issue in a breaker circuit, a hydraulic leak, or a mechanical failure, you restore performance, document the repair in the CMMS, and get the unit back into the workflow—tagging any unsafe equipment and coordinating movement in and out of the shop.
Core responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain electric and manual pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems; implement remedies in compliance with safety regulations.
- Install and repair electrical apparatus: transformers, breakers, switches, receptacles, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Maintain operations of supporting systems such as pneumatic, hydraulic, ammonia, and related utilities.
- Repair, replace, and maintain the physical structure of equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in a CMMS; tag unsafe units and coordinate equipment flow with cross‑functional teams.

- Flexibility to work 1st and/or 2nd shift.
- Military experience welcomed.
