Make a meaningful impact supporting students with visual impairments across schools in York County on a contract assignment spanning from August 18, 2025, through June 1, 2026. This opportunity is ideal for passionate educators eager to empower K-12 students to excel academically and personally. You’ll work onsite as an itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired, collaborating closely with district staff and providing essential support in multiple districts throughout the school year.

What You’ll Bring:

• Active and valid Pennsylvania teaching certification for Visually Impaired students
• Prior experience teaching or supporting K-12 students with visual impairments
• Familiarity with Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to work cooperatively with district staff and families
• Ability to travel between schools throughout York County as needed
• Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment for students of all abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and specialized support to visually impaired students in a variety of educational settings
• Assess student needs and develop customized Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in consultation with multidisciplinary teams
• Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and related service providers
• Support integration of assistive technology, adaptive tools, and accessible materials
• Provide guidance and resources to school staff to better accommodate visually impaired learners
• Monitor student progress, document interventions, and participate in IEP meetings
