About the Position

Psychiatric Registered Nurse

Position: Psychiatric Registered Nurse
Shift: Third shift, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (two 15-minute paid breaks, no meal break)
Schedule: Every other weekend

Job Responsibilities / Overview

• Provide psychiatric nursing care to adult patients.
• Utilize crisis prevention techniques and follow least restrictive measures in care.
• Respond to medical emergencies, including CPR, first aid, and other emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential medical records using appropriate documentation formats.
• Transcribe physician orders accurately.
• Prioritize tasks and utilize available resources efficiently.
• Demonstrate professional conduct, ethical behavior, and adherence to patient rights.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and participate in team meetings.

Work Hours & Breaks

• Assigned shifts may vary based on operational needs.
• Paid breaks are provided; lunch may occasionally be adjusted due to emergencies.
• Overtime must be pre-approved.

Mandatory Training

• Attend orientation and ongoing training sessions as required.
• Complete all competency maintenance activities and in-service programs.

Performance Standards

• Maintain professionalism, patient safety, and care standards.
• Follow dress code and wear identification badge at all times.
• Adhere to sign-in/out procedures.

Communication

• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Report incidents accurately through the chain of command.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold patient rights at all times.

Emergency Procedures

• Respond to disasters and emergencies according to established protocols.
• Utilize medical equipment as trained and ensure compliance with safety standards.
