Shift Lead
- The focus of the Shift Lead is to ensure a safe and fun play environment for each pup while supervising the team to ensure all standards are being met ensuring safety and superior customer service are at the forefront of everything.
- You are responsible for being a multi-tasker and assisting in all areas of the business, able to jump from a playroom to the front desk with ease.
- You care for all furry friends as if they were a part of your family.
- You interact with dogs and are always on stage. All rooms are equipped with cameras so Pet Parents can stay engaged with their dogs and watch the fantastic experience you create for their pup.
- Greet everyone who walks in or out of Dogtopia.
- Check pups in and out of daycare.
- Answer Pet Parent questions over the phone and in person.
- Respond to and manage emails to ensure timely and accurate communication.
- Share information about our daycare packages and memberships with Pet Parents.
- Accurately record and interpret dog behavior.
- Maintain open and ongoing communication with management regarding dog behavior, staff support, and client updates
- Conduct meet and greets and perform dog evaluations
- This position is primarily focused on front desk responsibilities and overseeing operations, with occasional shifts in the playrooms.

- Overseeing development of team members, including offering regular feedback throughout the shift
- Providing the highest level of customer service to our clients
- Placing dogs into appropriate playrooms for all day play
- Removing dogs from play when pet parent arrives – giving detailed feedback about the dog’s day
- Ability to invoice customer purchases accurately
- Ensuring all Dogtopia health and safety policies are followed
- Evaluating new dogs who would like to join daycare
- Ensure cleanliness of the facility at all times
- Completing baths, nail trims and other grooming duties
- Administering medications
- Ability to learn dog body language
- Ability to learn individual personalities of each and every dog in our care
- Assisting with boarders
- Have direct experience working with dogs. This is an entry level position, but you must have some prior dog handling experience at a minimum
- Have a genuine affinity for dogs and their people; they are the center of our business!
- Be willing and able to complete our E-learning programs before start date
- Possess strong verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate proven customer service skills
- Dog Daycare, Veterinary, Kennel or similar: 1 year (Required)
- Front Desk, Reception, Customer Service, Sales Management or similar: 1 year (Required)
- Management or Supervising: (Preferred)
- Morning (Required)
- Mid-Day (Required)
- Some Evening (Required)
- Some Weekends (Required)
- 30-40 hours per week
- Shifts are from 6:30/7am to 12/12:30 and from 2pm to 7:30

About the Shift Lead role
The Shift Lead is responsible for maintaining accountability and safety for a team of employees and a large group of customer dogs! We are a fast-paced business and the candidate should be prepared to spend the entire shift on his/her feet. Multi-tasking and maintaining organization in a busy environment is required.
Shift Leads must demonstrate leadership, as well as outstanding customer service both internally and externally.
