We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP) and Special Projects to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist in the day-to-day AP operations, support month-end closing activities, and contribute to cross-functional projects that improve accounting processes and efficiency. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who enjoys problem-solving, learning, and contributing to team success.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP):

• Process and verify vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
• Ensure timely and accurate coding, approval, and posting of AP transactions.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain vendor records and support the 1099 year-end process.
• Assist with weekly check runs, ACH payments, and credit card reconciliations.

General Accounting & Month-End Support:

• Assist with account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for audits and financial reviews.

Special Projects:

• Participate in system implementations, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
• Conduct financial data analysis to support business decisions.
• Assist with ad hoc reporting, research, and cross-departmental initiatives.
• Collaborate with other departments on special assignments assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4–5 years of experience in accounting, with exposure to accounts payable preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
