ER RN Job Details – Ottumwa, IA

• Location: Ottumwa, IA 52501 (Iowa nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Regional Health Center, 17-bed Emergency Room
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week (specify preference when applying)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020 - $2070 per week
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 (average 40 ER visits per day)
• Electronic Health Record: MediTech

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
• Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience (ER/ED experience preferred)
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, TNCC
• Mandatory reporter certification (Child and Adult)
• Ability to pass comprehensive background checks (Iowa SING BG, county/state checks)
• Recent immunization titers (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB) within the last 12 months
• Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screening (including opiates)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to adult and geriatric patients
• Assess, triage, and manage patient care in a fast-paced ER environment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using MediTech EHR
• Float as needed to support emergency department coverage and call requirements
• Comply with all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
