Corporate Accountant
On behalf of our client, located in Erie, Pennsylvania, Decision Associates is seeking applicants for the position of Corporate Accountant . Our client is a privately-held company in the manufacturing industry. The company is looking for an accountant who is ready to put their skills to work inside a growing business where they will have balance, impact, and direct access to company leaders.
Working at their facility in Erie, the Corporate Accountant is responsible for performing the detailed aspects of the financial accounting and reporting processes for our client. On a daily basis, the Corporate Accountant provides direct support of the day-to-day Finance processes, including payroll, A/P and billing/cash application. Additionally, the individual will assist the CFO with planning and organizing the annual financial budgets and related financial forecasts and monthly financial reporting packages, and will aid the CFO in their oversight of the various external financial audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides direct support and preparation of the day-to-day Finance processes, including payroll, A/P and billing/cash application.
- Assist in the implementation and administration of a cost accounting system that facilitates managerial decisions related to products and pricing.
- Prepare month end closing entries, variance analyses, and financial reconciliations as part of the monthly financial reporting for the Company and related entities.
- Develop a comprehensive working knowledge of all facets and modules of the ERP system.
- Assist the CFO in the completion of annual financial budgets and related forecasts
- Prepare various financial schedules for management meetings.
- Assist CFO and outside accountants with the annual independent compilation and tax work.
- Work with external accounting firm ensuring timely compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Develop strong working relationships with front office team in order to partner with them on projects.
- Assist Human Resources with the onboarding and integration of new employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Detail oriented with the ability to present findings and recommendations to direct reports.
- Strong Microsoft Office product experience, including proficiency with Excel.
- Prior manufacturing experience a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in corporate accounting and finance in a manufacturing environment.
- Flexible, collaborative, and detail oriented.
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Detail oriented with the ability to present findings and recommendations to direct reports.
