MEA is a trusted partner for mid-market companies, helping them hire smarter, build stronger teams, and elevate performance through our strategic HR services and talent optimization tools like Predictive Index and Fractional HR. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an energetic and people-centric Business Development Representative to help us grow our community of members.
This is more than just a sales role—it’s an opportunity to become the face of MEA in the Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Northern Delaware markets.
What You’ll Do:
Sales & Business Development
- Proactively identify, qualify, and close new Member opportunities in the assigned territory.
- Meet or exceed individual new member acquisition targets .
- Generate and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads through direct outreach, networking, and marketing efforts.
- Uncover project-based opportunities with new-name organizations and collaborate with internal experts to support proposal development and closing.
- Leverage Salesforce CRM to track all activities, pipeline stages, and client interactions.
Brand Representation (in support of sales objectives)
- Serve as a visible and credible representative of MEA in the assigned market.
- Actively participate in industry associations, networking communities, and professional groups to build relationships and raise awareness.
- Represent MEA at conferences, trade shows, and events to position the organization as a go-to resource for HR and talent solutions.
Channel & Partner Development (in support of sales objectives)
- Cultivate and manage relationships with consultants, complementary service providers, and other strategic referral partners.
- Consistently engage and nurture referral networks to generate leads and expand MEA’s market reach.
- Identify new referral sources and maintain regular communication and prospecting efforts.
Territory Management (in support of sales objectives)
- Maintain a deep understanding of the assigned territory, including key industries, competitors, and business trends.
- Strategically prioritize outreach and event participation based on territory intelligence and market potential.
- Adapt sales tactics based on feedback, performance data, and regional dynamics.
Reporting & Collaboration
- Accurately document sales activities, opportunities, and client interactions in Salesforce.
- Provide regular updates to sales leadership on performance and pipeline health.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment, resource support, and brand consistency throughout the Member journey.
Required Experience:
You’re a Great Fit If You:
Have 1-3 years of experience in business development, sales, or a customer-facing role
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and drive new business
Love building relationships and can communicate with confidence—virtually and in person
- Proven track record of identifying and closing business opportunities
Thrive in a self-starter environment and take initiative with great time-management skills
Are familiar with CRMs (especially Salesforce) and modern sales engagement platforms
Know your local market and love being on the ground meeting people
Bonus Points For:
Experience in professional services, HR/talent solutions, payroll, or HR tech
A strong presence in local business or industry groups
Existing referral network or experience in referral-based sales
