Director, Independent Segment for Contracting and Trade Strategy

GSK
Philadelphia, PA

Site Name: Home Worker - USA

Posted Date: Mar 18 2026

For more than 140 years, GSK has pioneered novel research methods and technologies to help protect people from infectious diseases. Our vaccines portfolio of more than 20 marketed vaccines is the broadest in the industry, helping to protect people throughout their lives. We believe prevention, at scale and for impact, is the best health investment for society, patients, and the economy. Vaccine preventable diseases are a significant burden on society and healthcare systems: approximately $1 trillion in productivity is lost each year due to preventable conditions. This includes the impact from the 330,000 older adults hospitalized globally each year with RSV, the approximately 1 in 3 people who will develop shingles in their lifetime and the 3-11% of people infected with seasonal influenza each year. Our Vaccines portfolio will reach around half of the more than 2.5 billion people we will reach this decade. Each year, around 40% of children globally receive a GSK vaccine and GSK is well-placed to lead in the growing adult immunization market.

The Director, Independent Segment—Contracting and Trade Strategy is a highly visible role within the GSK US Vaccines Business Unit and reports to the Head of Contracting and Trade Strategy. The Director is responsible for developing, deploying (in partnership with Contracting Strategy Leaders and National Account Leaders), and optimizing the overall contracting strategy for key independent accounts within the independent market segment, including independent pharmacies. Additional responsibilities include contract pricing strategy for in-line brands, retail-market customer forecasting, and assessing environmental opportunities and challenges that impact the brands. The role supports the development of value propositions, conducts environmental assessments, and partners closely with Contracting Strategy and National Account leadership to generate customer insights. This position also coordinates with matrix stakeholders to ensure trends affecting key customers are reflected in brand strategy and goals. The Director must be adept at leading and presenting complex analytical work to influence brand strategy and ensure contracting considerations are incorporated. As needed, the Director will build business cases to optimize short- and long-term contract strategies.

  • Engage key stakeholders to monitor current contract performance and provide insights on the current and future state of the business, including competitive actions and market trends

  • Partner closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure effective tactical execution of contract strategies

  • Develop and maintain complex B2B contract templates for payer and purchaser customers, in partnership with internal and external counsel

  • Collaborate closely with Brand Marketing and Market Access teams to ensure strategic and tactical alignment for key accounts

  • Build comprehensive business cases to support contract review and approval processes, partnering with Legal, Brand Marketing, Market Access, and Finance

  • Work cross‑functionally to ensure required enablers are in place to support key customer strategies and evolving market dynamics
