Hedge Fund Solutions Portfolio Specialist, Vice President

The Hedge Fund Solutions Portfolio Specialist will work alongside the portfolio management team and MSIM intermediary sales in all aspects of business development and client service. Specific product areas include direct hedge fund, multi-manager hedge fund, risk premia, alternative lending and opportunistic portfolios.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver the hedge fund solutions value proposition to MSIM intermediary sales teams globally.
- Engage directly with prospects and clients to facilitate all elements of the sales and onboarding process.
- Direct the business development strategy in intermediary sales alongside the CIO and deputy-CIO, including new product development.
- Develop topical content that emphasizes the hedge fund solutions strategy.
- Assist with analytics such as performance and risk attribution and competitor analysis.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- An undergraduate in business, finance or other related field; 5+ years of experience in the asset management or brokerage industry, in an investment, research or marketing capacity preferred.
- Strong quantitative skills and experience in use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; understand and distill complex concepts clearly.
- Team player who enjoys working with others and reaching out proactively throughout the firm to gather information;
- Self-starter with drive to be successful and ability to manage and execute simultaneous projects and tasks without reminders.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Travel required (25-30%)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $225,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
