Assistant Wrestling Coach

Coaching (60%)
- Assist the Head Coach in the organization and execution of practices, conditioning programs and competitive events. Instruct student-athletes with sound principles and expert skills related to wrestling, prepare individual athletes and team for matches, set season goals and motivate students using techniques that meet the needs of the students and that are consistent with the Lycoming College athletic program philosophy.
- Comply with the policies and procedures outlined in the Lycoming College Athletic Training handbook. Cooperate with athletic trainers to ensure student-athletes receive proper medical and physical training services.
- Model integrity, respect, and good sportsmanship at all times and hold student-athletes accountable for the same behavior.
- Promote the Wrestling team, the overall athletic program and Lycoming College with team alumni, parents and community members.
- In compliance with NCAA Division III rules and regulations for wrestling, recruit student-athletes who meet the College’s admission requirements, who possess the potential to contribute to your team, and who will add positively to the student body.
- Represent the College at admission open houses and other events that involve prospective students.
- Monitor the academic success of student-athletes and collaborate with faculty, the Assistant Dean for Freshmen and other key personnel to promote academic success. Support the academic development of your student-athletes through graduation.
High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred; competitive wrestling and/or coaching experience at the college level required. Successful candidate must be well-organized; have excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with prospective student-athletes, student-athletes, and staff and College personnel. Candidates must be attentive to details, have the ability to lead, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidate must display a commitment for adhering to all Lycoming College, NCAA and Landmark policies, rules and regulations. Valid driver’s license with good driving record required. What We Offer!
