Horizon House, a non-profit organization, has been widely recognized for its services as a provider of community-based behavioral health, intellectual disability, and homeless services in Eastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware. Each year, Horizon House provides a continuum of services at over 100 sites to over 4,5000 adults with psychiatric or developmental disabilities, drug and alcohol addictions, and/or homelessness. A pioneer in community-based rehabilitation, Horizon House is widely recognized for its innovative approach to delivering services in a community setting. Currently, we are seeking a full-time Accounting Associate to work in our Fiscal Division.
Some duties to include:. To receive, review, verify, and code invoices, vouchers/requests for accurate, timely processing.
. To ensure that proper documentation exists for all approved payment transactions in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
. To ensure fiscal transactions are handled accurately and timely in the prescribed manner to safeguard Agency resources.
. To perform and maintain inter-company schedules.
. To perform general ledger journal entry input.
. To perform bank reconciliation.
To be successful, one will have:
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent and at least 3 years of prior bookkeeping related experience, or any combination of experience, education, or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.
- Knowledge of basic accounts payable procedures.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word, and basic accounting principles preferred.
- Data entry and computer skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others, as well as at various levels of independence when needed.
- Good communication skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- A self-starter interested in being involved in all areas of the accounting department processes and willing to assist others in assuring smooth department operation.
Scope:
- Required to sit for long periods of time.
- Light lifting and/or carrying, not to exceed 50 lbs.
