MANAGER OF CONTENT, PLAYFLY MAX (PENN STATE SPORTS PROPERTIES)

Playfly Sports is looking for a Manager of Content. Playfly Max to join our team in State College, PA.

Playfly Max is seeking a Manager of Content to lead its creative vision and content strategy, combining innovative thinking with a strong business mindset to deliver engaging and impactful marketing materials across multiple platforms and drive measurable business outcomes.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

• Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy, aligning content with Playfly Max’s overall branding, business, and audience objectives
• Develop student-athlete driven content for Playfly Max’s platform, Roar+
• Own holistic content plans for all brand campaigns, partnerships, moments, events, and more
• Work with the broader athletics marketing/content team to create compelling campaigns that resonate with appropriate audiences, driving reach, deepening engagement, and increasing awareness and relevance of the Penn State brand amongst current and potential partners
• Oversee the development and distribution of content across all channels, including social media, websites, email, and other relevant digital platforms
• Balance long-term content planning with the flexibility to respond to dynamic, real-time shifts in the college sports landscape, ensuring that content remains relevant, timely, and aligned with both strategic goals and current trends
• Identify key storytelling opportunities to monetize content for Playfly Max
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and work across internal teams to feed reporting dashboards used to make real-time content decisions
• Regularly analyze content performance and leverage data and insights to understand audience behavior and preferences, provide actionable recommendations, and implement findings to maximize engagement and reach
• Lead and mentor a team of content interns. Recruit, hire, and develop a team of video producers and content strategists, as needed
• Manage a robust pool of freelancers who offer support as needed for various initiatives, ensuring quality and consistency of the Playfly brand is maintained
• Other job-related duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• 3+ years of experience in content strategy, video production, preferably within sports, media, or a related industry
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful content strategies, driving audience growth, and deepening engagement with existing audiences
• Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics tools and measuring performance.
• Can perform and excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, especially during critical campaign moments
• Experience with project management tools and ability to lead and prioritize across multiple projects
• Discretion, as this role will be privy to confidential information
• Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality and efficiency across multiple projects

TRAVEL, LIFTING, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk-up stairs
• Ability and willingness to travel to events and competitions as needed
• Must be able to work nights and weekends around sporting events
