GENERAL OVERVIEW
This job assists the Invasive Cardiologist in the performance of diagnostic and interventional procedures; demonstrates leadership in collaboration with co-workers to achieve efficient and cost effective functioning of the department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Integrates knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques being performed, and assists accordingly. (45%)
-
Maintains expertise in current radiographic imagery techniques as they relate to invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures. (15%)
-
Orients new staff on the operation of laboratory equipment. Troubleshoots malfunctions, and is knowledgeable of proper support personnel and instances when they need to be contacted. (15%)

Anticipates adverse reactions/conditions when monitoring the effects of procedural activities, and responds appropriately. (15%)

Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g., regulatory, billing protocols, and image storage and archival (10%)

Performs all other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
-
3 years in a cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology
-
Radiography Certification and Registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist with Cardiovascular Credentialing International
-
ACLS Certification
-
Requires critical thinking, decisive and independent judgment.

CPR - American Heart Association

Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
-
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred

Associate's Degree preferred.
