PRIMARY FUNCTION :

The Director of DEI provides subject matter expertise on the topics of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) to improve Jefferson Health's ability to build and sustain a culture of trust and belonging. The Director, DEI will collaborate with Human Resources and the VP, Diversity, Inclusion and community Engagement to design, develop and implement strategies to attract and retain talent. The Director, DEI collaborates with DEI Councils to develop annual Action Plans tethered to specific business objectives. They will generate reports using appropriate resources and collaborates with various departments to ensure data integrity. The Director, DEI creates and analyzes statistical data and other reports relating to Diversity Metrics. This role is also responsible for collaborating with liaisons that will help build structure to our DEI councils across the health system. Working with both the Director, DEI Education to assess trainings and initiatives to foster an open and inclusive environment; and the Director, of Community Engagement to provide clear alignment to organizational strategy to community efforts. They will monitor the success of all diversity and inclusion efforts to ensure alignment and achievement of business objectives. The Director of DEI will serve as the HR ombudsman for diversity issues and be responsible for the management DEI scorecard reports on a quarterly basis. They will also be required to manage other projects throughout the year assigned by department leaders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Develops and implements diversity initiatives and strategies to achieve Jefferson Health's business objectives with a focus on integration of hospital policies and practices. Generates and analyzes diversity metrics on quarterly basis. Analyzes statistical data and other reports relating to Diversity Metrics. Serves as the diversity liaison throughout Jefferson Health in support of community engagement, DEI education and human resources as needed. Provides ongoing support to DEI Councils, hospital leadership and council's executive sponsor. Builds relationships with key stakeholders through communication and liaison support. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Must demonstrate compassion, empathy and possess interpersonal skills to make trusting connections. Must act proactively with a sense of urgency when addressing issues related to discrimination. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must have strong facilitation skills and be able to speak in front of large crowds about diversity, equity and inclusion topics.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor's Degree required. Masters' Degree preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION : Human Resources and/or Diversity and Inclusion Certification preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Minimum of 7 years of proven experience directly related to specified duties and role responsibilities
