School Principal (K-3rd) and (4-8th)

Beginning in the 2026-27 school year, Impact Charter School West (ICS West) will operate as a Lower School for grades K-3rd and Upper School for grades 4th-8th. Each grade band will be led by a separate principal.

Our School

Mission: ICS West provides a comprehensive educational program that empowers global citizens to become academically, socially and emotionally prepared to make a positive impact in their local and global communities. Our program focuses on world cultures, Spanish language instruction, and participation in service-learning projects.

Our Big Goal reflects this idea - our students who are below grade level will make more than one year of growth every school year until they are at or above grade level in all subjects. Right now, many of our students are not at this level, and supporting them in getting there is the focus of everything we do as a team.
• Belief #2: We believe that it is our responsibility as educators to meet the needs of every student who enrolls, with no exception. ICS West is an open enrollment, neighborhood public school, and we accept every child who applies and gets in through the lottery. We don’t kick students out for having behavior or academic challenges. As educators we take responsibility for the learning of all of our kids, and we strive to provide a comprehensive support system that will allow our students to become academically, socially and emotionally prepared to contribute to their communities in positive and meaningful ways.

• ICS West was founded in 2016.
• The school is located at 5600 Chester Avenue in the Kingsessing neighborhood of Southwest Philadelphia.
• We serve approximately 850 students in grades K-8.
• All of our students are taught Spanish starting in Kindergarten.

Schedule, Salary and Benefits

• This is a 12-month position.
• The salary range for this position depends on experience and certification.
• ICS West pays for 100% of the cost of employee and dependent health benefits, and matches 403b contributions up to 5%. We do not participate in PSERS.

Your Role - As a Principal, you will:

As a Principal, you will serve as the instructional and operational leader of the school, developing a clear vision for learning for all students, and organizing the school team to accomplish that vision.

Lead the school team to develop learning environments where every student in every classroom is working and thinking at an appropriately rigorous level, all the time.

Ensure a safe, secure and orderly environment for all school community members.

Work with the Instructional Leadership Team to:

• Provide teachers with feedback on classroom instruction to develop teacher practice using the Danielson framework and program-specific coaching tools.
• Utilize student data to evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum and instruction plans that are designed to meet the needs of all learners.
• Establish professional development opportunities for the school team that lead to increased effectiveness consistent with school goals and needs.

Support the Culture and Climate Team and Student Support Teams to:

• Cultivate a student-centered, social and emotional learning approach to teaching and learning through the use of culturally responsive practices
• Develop a tiered response system that includes positive, targeted and intensive levels of support.

Engage stakeholders, including families and community members, in a shared responsibility for student success.

Work with the Leadership Team to develop a culture of collaboration, distributive leadership, and continuous improvement conducive to student learning and professional growth.

• PA K-12 Principal and/or Administrative Certification
