Position Summary:
The Youth Facilitator Supervisor & Youth MOVE Coordinator provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for youth engagement efforts across the Philadelphia System of Care (PSOC). This role supervises Youth Facilitators, leads Youth MOVE Philadelphia, develops youth-centered curricula, and builds strong relationships with youth, families, community partners, and system leaders.
The position is responsible for coordinating youth engagement across PSOC Neighborhood Community Councils, building and expanding youth-led programming, developing youth leadership pipelines, and ensuring that youth voice drives the work of PSOC. The role includes both programmatic leadership and administrative management, requiring cultural responsiveness, trauma-informed practice, strong facilitation skills, and deep commitment to youth empowerment.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provide supervision, coaching, onboarding, and professional development for Youth Facilitators, ensuring alignment with PSOC and DBHIDS values.
- Lead the growth, coordination, and sustainability of Youth MOVE Philadelphia, including recruitment, engagement, and youth leadership development.
- Design, facilitate, and oversee youth empowerment programming, groups, training, and councils with cultural responsiveness and fidelity.
- Coordinate youth engagement across Neighborhood Community Councils, ensuring consistent youth voice in planning, dialogue, and community initiatives.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with youth-serving organizations to expand outreach, awareness, and leadership pipelines.
- Build supportive, trauma-informed relationships with youth that promote wellness, identity development, and leadership.
- Collaborate across DBHIDS units and system partners to support joint initiatives and elevate youth voice in governance and decision-making spaces.
- Manage administrative, reporting, data tracking, and operational responsibilities, including documentation, metrics, and budget support.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong commitment to supporting youth with behavioral health needs through empathetic, trauma-informed practice.
- Knowledge of youth development, leadership, and youth–adult partnership models.
- Effective group facilitation and youth engagement skills.
- Ability to build rapport with diverse youth while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Strong communication, documentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Flexible, collaborative team player who works effectively across the PSOC team, DBHIDS and system partners.
- Demonstrated professionalism, accountability, and conflict resolution skills.
Education and Experience:
- Some formal post-secondary education required, bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services, Education, Youth Development, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Two (2) to four (4) years of experience working with youth or young adults in community, school, or behavioral health settings.
- Experience facilitating groups, workshops, or youth-focused programs. Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care, youth development principles, and culturally responsive engagement.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, to support youth programming and events.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform duties that may require sitting, standing, walking, and local travel.
- Ability to participate in meetings, facilitate groups, and engage in community-based activities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and electronically.
Essential Functions:
- Provide supervision, guidance, and support to Youth Facilitators.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement youth engagement and leadership activities. Facilitate youth groups, meetings, trainings, and community council activities.
- Engage youth in meaningful participation across PSOC and community initiatives. Collaborate with PSOC staff, system partners, and community organizations. Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and program records.
- Communicate effectively with youth, staff, leadership, and partners.
- Support Youth MOVE Philadelphia programming and related initiatives.
