Direct support professional

PA Lifesharing, LLC is seeking a dedicated and confident Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a teenage girl residing in a therapeutic group home setting in York, PA. This role requires a strong, compassionate professional who can build trust and provide meaningful guidance while maintaining clear boundaries, structure, and safety.

Monday- Friday - 4:00 pm- 9:00 pm 18.00 up to 19.00 per hour

The DSP will assist the individual in developing skills for independence, emotional stability, and positive decision-making, while creating a supportive environment that encourages respect, accountability, and personal growth

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to a teenage girl with behavioral and emotional needs in a group home environment.
• Maintain a firm but empathetic approach to help the individual manage her emotions and behaviors.
• Support daily living activities, including hygiene, meals, room organization, and routines.
• Encourage and model appropriate social skills and constructive communication.
• Support implementation of behavioral, therapeutic, and safety plans as directed by care team professionals at the home.
• Assist with community activities, and positive recreational experiences.
• Document progress notes, incident reports, and communication logs accurately and timely.
• Maintain professional boundaries and enforce established home rules and expectations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in Human Services preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience supporting youth with behavioral challenges strongly preferred.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately in crisis situations.
• Strong communication, redirecting, and motivational skills.
• Valid PA Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance.
• Must be able to pass all required background checks (FBI, Child Abuse, State Police).
• Mandated Reporter training required (upon hire if not already completed).
