Job Description
Job Description
About the Company
We are a civil engineering and land surveying firm built on the idea that the well-being of our people comes first. With a 1:1 balance between engineering and surveying staff, our 16-person team values collaboration, flexibility, and growth from within. The firm is employee-owned — ownership is held by employees who are actively involved in the business. Our leadership is committed to long-term stability, not selling to a larger firm, and we pride ourselves on providing a supportive, family-oriented culture.
Why Join Us?
- True work-life balance (typical hours: 9 am – 4 pm ET)
- No-cost healthcare coverage for employees
- 3 weeks of vacation to start, plus paid holidays
- 401k with 3% company match
- Employee-owned firm with a culture of collaboration and respect
- Clear career path: Project Manager → Account Manager (20–30% pay increase upon promotion)
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Professional Engineer (PE) with a strong background in land development design and permitting to join our growing engineering team. This position is ideal for someone with both technical expertise and the leadership skills to manage projects and staff while maintaining hands-on involvement in design.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage land development projects from design through permitting and approvals
- Oversee and mentor staff engineers, ensuring quality deliverables and on-time submissions
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams
- Prepare and review design calculations, grading plans, stormwater management, and permitting documents (NPDES, grading permits, etc.)
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Account Managers to ensure client satisfaction
- Maintain involvement in design work while building management and client-facing skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required)
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania (required)
- 7-12 years of experience in civil/land development engineering
- Strong technical background in grading, stormwater, and permitting (NPDES, grading permits, etc.)
- Proven project management experience with the ability to lead a team and manage client relationships
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Compensation
- Salary range: $100,000 - $120,000+, commensurate with experience
- Clear growth path into Account Manager roles ($140,000 – $150,000 range)
