Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Full-Time | $19/hr | Lancaster, PA

Abound Health is hiring a full-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support two adult brothers in the Lancaster area. This is a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM position for an experienced caregiver who is confident with behavioral support, medical needs, and structured daily routines. About the Role

This DSP position involves supporting two adult brothers with differing needs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing:

• Assistance with ADLs (bathing, hygiene, dressing, toileting, meal support)
• Behavioral-support strategies, including redirection and de-escalation
• Monitoring for medical needs, including seizure awareness and rescue-medication protocols
• Mobility support, including safe walking assistance and transfers
• Transportation to volunteer sites, therapy appointments, and community activities
• Structured engagement, routine building, and emotional support

Both individuals have detailed care plans and behavior plans that the DSP must follow closely. Training will be provided, but prior experience with behaviors and medical needs is strongly preferred.

Schedule

• Full-time, 40 hours/week
• Monday–Friday
• 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Support provided in one home

Pay Rate

$19.00 per hour

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Active car insurance
• Up-to-date vehicle inspection and registration
• Experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs
• Comfort with seizure protocols and medical monitoring
• Ability to assist with ADLs and mobility
• Prior DSP, HHA, CNA, or related caregiving experience
• Ability to follow detailed care and behavior plans
• Patience, consistency, and strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills and personal care
• Provide safe mobility support and transfers
• Implement behavior-support strategies as trained
• Monitor for medical needs and follow emergency protocols
• Support community participation, volunteer activities, and therapy routines
• Maintain accurate documentation
• Build positive, supportive relationships with both individuals
