Job Title: Assistant Plant Manager

Compensation: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00

Responsibilities

• Support the Plant Manager in overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness
• Coordinate all plant activities, including production scheduling, workforce supervision, process improvement, and maintenance
• Act as a key leader in achieving operational goals and developing a culture of continuous improvement
• Ensure the shop is open and ready for employees to arrive; report attendance issues
• Assist in managing daily plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics
• Hold production meetings to review daily schedules
• Work with Shop Supervisors to meet production goals and motivate employees
• Help with set-ups to speed up production as needed
• Plan production needs ahead of schedule, including materials and headcount
• Coach employees on performance improvements and issue avoidance
• Record employee productivity and personnel issues, providing documentation to HR
• Collaborate with Sales and Operations to create production schedules
• Ensure parts are where they need to be for production
• Maintain quality and quantity standards according to company policies
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders; assign duties accordingly
• Work with Plant Manager to establish or adjust work schedules to meet demands
• Ensure safety procedures are followed by all team members
• Oversee welding tests and shop tours for candidates
• Provide hiring feedback and decisions in coordination with the Plant Manager
• Supervise and direct Maintenance team to ensure shop efficiency

Requirements

• 5+ years of Supervisory/Management within Manufacturing
• Ideal candidate will come from Welding/Metal Fabrication industry
• Lean/Six Sigma Experience Preferred
