THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is seeking a highly organized Clerical Supervisor 1 to join their Support Services team.

The PLCB plays a vital role in Pennsylvania's economy and public service mission. This position offers the opportunity to lead essential operational functions that support nearly 600 Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores and central office operations across the Commonwealth.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerical Supervisor 1 oversees daily mail room operations within the Administrative Services Division to ensure efficient, accurate, and cost-effective processing of all incoming and outgoing mail. This role contributes to the PLCB's operational effectiveness by supervising staff, maintaining compliance with postal and shipping requirements, and supporting agency-wide communication and distribution needs.

As the Clerical Supervisor 1, you will oversee the Northwest Office Building (NWOB) mailroom process by ensuring the proper preparation of mail and packages in accordance with the United States Postal Service and United Parcel Service. You will review weekly UPS invoices to ensure all packages were invoiced correctly and for PLCB business only. You will also be responsible for the alcohol product sample receiving, logging, and inventory as outlined by policy for all product samples received into the NWOB.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or

  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
