Computer Science/Information Science Faculty Position

AVAILABLE: Spring 2027. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible faculty position. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

SALARY/RANK: Rank and tenure track status will be determined based upon the qualifications, skills and experience of the successful candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS: The qualified candidate will have an M.S. in Computer Science or a closely-related field (Ph.D. or an ABD equivalent is preferred). Previous experience teaching in a university/college setting or in a business or professional environment is desirable. The University values candidates who have: specific knowledge in a particular application of computer science such as cybersecurity, software development, or data management, an entrepreneurial approach that exhibits an interdisciplinary methodology for the inclusion of other academic departments, the ability to build new initiatives with outside groups and companies, and to reach out to prospective students, the ability to stay informed of new techniques and directions within the discipline and to upgrade the University programs appropriately, have knowledge/experience in growing fields of study such as data analysis and machine learning and demonstrate excellent teaching abilities in the instruction of undergraduate students. A former position within the industry that is related to the above aspects of the position is desirable. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, a commitment to the University's Mission, and a demonstrated commitment to that faith, through his/her professional responsibilities, relationships and the mentoring of students.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The position is responsible for teaching courses in computer science, mathematics, and other current areas of data and technology. The purpose of the position is to help chart the course of the University’s computer, data and technology-oriented programs for the future. The successful candidate will: be able to teach traditional computer science courses such as programming, algorithms, architecture, discrete structures, intelligent systems, and operating systems, have knowledge of several computer languages: Java, C/C++, R, Python, demonstrate excellent teaching abilities in the instruction of undergraduate students.
