Job Description
The Dietary Aide supports food service operations in a healthcare or retirement setting by assisting with meal preparation, delivery, and sanitation. This role ensures that patients and residents receive meals that meet dietary requirements, safety standards, and service expectations while providing friendly and attentive customer service.
Shifts
- 11:30am - 8pm
Pay
- $16 / hour (paid weekly)
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus and established dietary guidelines.
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, mixing, cooking, baking, and assembling ingredients.
- Portion and plate meals accurately to meet nutritional and presentation standards.
- Deliver meals to patients and residents and assist with tray setup to ensure comfort and accessibility.
- Support tray line operations by assembling meal trays efficiently and accurately.
- Provide courteous, efficient customer service to patients, residents, staff, and visitors.
- Communicate with nursing staff and the dietary team regarding patient and resident dietary needs, preferences, and restrictions.
- Record meal counts accurately and assist with inventory control and stock rotation as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining rooms, service areas, and equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in hospitality, bakery, or baking environments.
- Experience working in a healthcare or retirement community setting.
- Comfort working in a moderate to loud environment with changing demands.
- Flexibility to support extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Work Environment
This role is based in a healthcare and retirement community setting on a campus designated as free of tobacco and related products. You will primarily work indoors in kitchen and dining areas, with occasional involvement in outdoor activities and events.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mechanicsburg, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
