JOB TITLE : Dishwasher

REPORTS TO : Executive Chef and General Manager

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: PART TIME

TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE:

Weekends Mandatory – hours based on events booked

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

Responsibilities

General Duties

Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, silverware and other cooking utensils and send them through dish washing machine

Sort and stack clean dishes

Carry clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before delivering

Change dishwater in dish machine every hour

Wash pots, pans and trays by hand

Remove trash and garbage to dumpster

Set up or break down dishwashing area

Clean and roll/unroll mats

Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions

Sweep and mop floors

Assemble/disassemble dish washing machine

Sweep up trash around exterior of property and dumpster area

Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry

Notify manager any time dish washer machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures

Do not touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first

Other duties as directed

Relationships
Maintains relationships with other staff members, working closest with other kitchen and banquet staff

CAPABILITES:

Technical:

Understanding of safety requirements
Ability to use and maintain dishwashing machine

Physical :
Able to walk, stand, kneel and bend

Physical strength and ability to lift, carry and put away supplies, materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Stamina sufficient to endure continuous physical effort including frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and grasping.
Able to endure working up to 12 hour shifts to perform duties as assigned

Ability to tolerate and work with chemicals used at the property

Skills/Abilities:

Good oral communication skills

Ability to speak English at a rudimentary level

Ability to read and write in English at an 8th grade level
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to pay attention to detail and focus on providing quality service

Positive attitude, sense of humor; energetic and capable role model for peers

Demonstrates integrity on a personal as well as professional level
Able to work effectively in a team environment

Ability to independently follow-through on tasks through completion and meet all deadlines as assigned
