Job Summary

Installs, tests, monitors, upgrades, troubleshoots and repairs computer systems, networks and software peripherals. Manages user account information, including rights, security and systems groups. Collaborate with staff from other departments to complete projects and resolve issues. Works under supervision of Director of IT but must be able to work independently. May require an associate’s degree or its equivalent and 2–5 years of relevant experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain internal infrastructure including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments.
  2. Design and load documents and reports for staff using Crystal Reports.
  3. Perform server administration tasks through Active Directory, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, and print services ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
  4. Supports major operating systems and software packages – Windows Server 2008-2019, Windows 10, VMWare, eMar, MS Office Suite, Exchange, etc.
  5. Write, update, and maintain computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs such as census, call bells, etc.
  6. Responds to requests for support from staff concerning hardware, software, and operator problems and assists with training.
  7. Participates in projects with other department personnel to resolve system issues and update infrastructure.
  8. Provides support, direction and oversight for in-house phone system with outside consultant as well as schedules outside technical services for the phone system infrastructure as required.
  9. Install cabling and peripheral components for new and existing network connections.
  10. Maintains IT documentation including hardware inventory, users, network configuration and cabling and software distribution licenses.
  11. Provides preventative maintenance of PCs (cleaning, malware, defrag, etc.)
  12. Assists with preparation of capital and expense budgets for the department.
  13. Provides updates, status, and completion information to users, via voice mail, E-mail, or in-person communication regarding network schedule, backups, and downtime to users.
  14. Stays abreast of applicable federal, state, and industry regulations and authorities having jurisdiction.
  15. Processes bid documents, purchase orders, and invoices in a timely manner.
  16. Assists with management of printers, leased printers and copiers; maintains toner inventory for copiers and printers.
  17. Facilitates special video needs throughout facility by providing setup of projector and/or laptop for staff and guests of the facility.
  18. Discuss with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
  19. All other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Requires sitting and standing based in normal office environments. Work can require getting on ladders to cable networks and adjust equipment and getting on floor or under desks to connect PCs and accessories. Email is used for "on call" communication for support over weekends, holidays, and evenings.

  • Pleasant, cheerful, tactful, courteous when handling coworkers and/or families.
  • Ability to cooperate with other personnel. Ability to treat patient information confidentially.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat of harm to themselves, others or property.
  • Knowledge and understanding of advanced networking, PC Imaging and troubleshooting, add\remove troubleshoot printers and copiers, Troubleshoot and install telephones, and install and troubleshoot various software products.
  • Must exhibit good judgement, be organized, and efficient.
  • Be able to think outside the box to solve problems and communicate solutions effectively.
  • Be reliable and on time for work and this job does require after hours support.
  • Must adhere to Wesbury's personnel policies and practices including, but not limited to, the attendance requirements.
