JOB SUMMARY: CDS Administrators is looking for an Entry Level Accountant to join our growing team! CDS specializes in benefit administration and prioritizes exceptional customer service. QUALIFICATIONS
- Position requires a minimum of two (2) years accounting (Accountant) experience
- High School diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in Accounting with two (2) years prior accounting preferred
- Proficiency in core MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Proficiency in role specific software / Ability to learn new software quickly
- Must have the ability to manage their own time throughout day to meet deadlines, while actively addressing client and team requests
- Must be able to utilize critical thinking skills to make educated sound decisions by utilizing the resources available.

ACCOUNTANT DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Posting of payments including daily deposits, ACH files, and pension deductions and ensuring they are recorded to the appropriate client account
- Fund Payables: entering and paying invoices for client accounts, printing checks
- Processing refunds for overpaid member accounts, transfer of funds to correct accounts, and recording and processing NSF’s
- Reconciling bank statements for claims and operating accounts, research processing discrepancies
- Perform other tasks and projects assigned by manager
- Ensures HIPAA regulations are followed. Ensures file transmissions follow encrypted protocols, staff are following guidelines for disclosure of PHI and ePHI, participates in team HIPAA risk assessment and training
- Data entry projects
- Filing as needed Preparing files for New Year by making folders, labels, and auditing prior filing for accuracy before sending to offsite storage facility.
