Cost Accountant
Job Description
Job Description
Are you someone who enjoys digging into data, solving puzzles, and helping a business make smarter financial decisions? Do you love connecting the dots between operations, pricing, and financial performance? If so, you might be exactly who we’re looking for.
We are seeking a Cost Accountant to play a key role in strengthening inventory costing, pricing strategy, and operational financial insight across our organization and subsidiaries. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both technical accounting work and partnering with teams across the business to influence decision-making.
In this role, you won’t just track numbers — you’ll help explain them, improve them, and use them to guide strategy. You’ll also have opportunities to mentor others, contribute to system improvements, and expand your professional impact as the role continues to grow.
We are open to hiring at either the Cost Accountant or Senior Cost Accountant level, depending on experience. Candidates who meet most but not all senior-level qualifications are still encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do
As our Cost Accountant, you will:
???? Drive Cost & Inventory Insights
- Perform detailed inventory reconciliations, including slow-moving inventory, in-transit stock, and returns
- Analyze production costs, cost variances, and margin trends to support pricing and product strategies
- Evaluate and refine inventory valuation methodologies across entities and operational teams
- Support pricing initiatives through detailed cost modeling and contribution margin analysis
???? Strengthen Financial Processes & Controls
- Manage cost implications of chargebacks and distributor agreement income recognition
- Review transactional details and prepare or approve adjusting entries as needed
- Lead and monitor 340B inventory process compliance and reporting
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and recommend improvements
???? Partner Across the Organization
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and finance teams during budget planning, monthly reporting, and variance analysis
- Recommend cost control and efficiency improvements through financial and operational data analysis
- Support ERP system enhancements related to costing and inventory management
- Develop ad hoc dashboards and reports that support executive decision-making
- Provide guidance to staff and serve as a cross-functional liaison
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of accounting experience with a focus in cost accounting, inventory, or operational finance
- Strong knowledge of inventory systems, standard costing, and production/manufacturing accounting principles
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills (Power BI or other reporting tools are a plus)
- Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls related to inventory and costing
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and comfort translating financial data for non-financial partners
- A proactive, improvement-focused mindset
Why Join Us
We are committed to building a workplace where employees can grow, collaborate, and make a meaningful impact. In this role, you will have visibility across multiple areas of the business and the opportunity to influence key financial and operational decisions.
✔ Opportunity to expand your technical and strategic skillset
✔ Exposure to cross-functional leadership and executive decision-making
✔ Collaborative and supportive team environment
✔ Potential for hybrid work model with flexibility
If you’re ready to take the next step in your cost accounting career and want your work to truly make a difference, we’d love to connect with you.
