Who You Are
Horizons at Episcopal Academy seeks a highly organized, mission-driven Program and Operations Director to support the Executive Director in leading both strategy and daily operations. This new role combines strategic project management, program leadership, and administrative support to ensure smooth delivery of our summer and school-year enrichment programs.
What You Will Do
Strategic Support: Partner with the Executive Director on organizational priorities, board/donor communications, grant proposals, and tracking progress towards organizational goals.
Program Leadership and Management: Plan and manage the 6-week summer program and year-round enrichment events; recruit, train, and supervise staff, instructors, and volunteers; oversee curriculum, field trips, and program logistics; ensure compliance and safety. Build and maintain strong relationships with families, school partners, and community organizations
Operations & Administration: Manage databases (Salesforce, student info systems), coordinate schedules and meetings, support bookkeeping, maintain communication with families and partners, and oversee supplies and materials.
About You
The ideal candidate for the Program and Operations Director will possess the following:
- 5+ years in nonprofit, education, or youth development; 2+ years in leadership/project management
- Proven ability to manage programs, staff, and operations in mission-driven settings
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with strong execution skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills; culturally competent and empathetic
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a small, flexible team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace; CRM/database experience (Salesforce preferred)
- Deep commitment to educational equity and the Horizons' mission
About Horizons at Episcopal Academy
Horizons at Episcopal Academy (HEA) is a community-centered education program serving students from the Greater Philadelphia area. Horizons advances educational equity by building long-term partnerships with students, families, communities, and schools to create experiences that inspire the joy of learning. The main component of Horizons is a six-week summer program located on the campus of Episcopal Academy, where students participate in academic, cultural, and recreational enrichment activities. The six-week program is supplemented by a growing school-year program, where students participate in after school tutoring, community service, and cultural and celebratory events quarterly. HEA operates a proven model and is part of an affiliated network with over 70 Horizons sites serving students across the country.
