Multimedia Specialist (Graphics and Proposal Development)

AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Strategic Interdisciplinary Research Office (SIRO) within the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research is seeking a highly skilled professional multimedia specialist to provide graphics and development support to faculty in the development of research grant proposals. This position reports to the lead Multimedia Specialist and works closely with the entire SIRO team.

This position has the potential to work remotely in the US. Standard work times are in EST.

Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities for the position include the following:

• Interact with a team of faculty, pre-award administration, and proposal development team to generate graphics for high-quality proposals being submitted to government agencies and industry.
• Support development of marketing materials and reports for SIRO including the generation of promotional materials, graphics for strategic plan, websites and other related communication products.
• Create content and assess data sets in support of graphic design products including overview figures, organizational charts, Gantt charts, tables, quad charts, and 3-plane diagrams.
• Assist lead Multimedia Specialist and Associate Director, Proposal Development, in developing guidelines and policies related to graphics support for faculty.
• Assist AVPR and Director of Strategic Initiatives with developing PowerPoint slide presentations for advisor board meetings and annual reviews.

Advanced word processing and graphical presentation skills with proficiencies with Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) are required. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills are required. Experience with scientific plotting and design tools such as Gephi and/or Blender is a plus.

The successful candidate will develop creative and effective diagrams, infographics, and data charts that can visually convey complex research ideas in a proposal document to funding agencies. We are looking for an individual who will be adept working independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment that serves the needs of research faculty.

Education and Experience: This job will be filled at a level 1. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher degree plus two years of related experience.
