ABOUT THE ROLE

The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Director of Human Resources and has zero direct reports.

ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Recruiting:
    • Refresh job requisitions company-wide monthly.
    • Oversee the offer approval process by preparing and sending offer letters and background checks through honeygrow’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
    • Support the onboarding process for new hires.
    • Develop and regularly update training materials for recruitment and ATS processes.
    • Provide assistance with New Restaurant Opening (NRO) staffing and high-priority recruitment efforts, including posting job requisitions, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and participating in selection processes.
    • Review and update job descriptions, ensuring they accurately reflect role requirements and company objectives.
    • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers as needed.
  • HR Administration:
    • Respond to any employment verifications and unemployment claims in a timely manner.
    • Oversee the completion of labor law compliance tasks, including preparing and sending minor hire and termination letters, as well as NJ and VA termination forms.
    • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
    • Provide guidance and support to employees on pay and benefits, workers’ compensation, incident reporting, and human resources policies and procedures.
    • Ensure timely and accurate responses to employee inquiries and needs.
    • Administer employee recognition programs, including Season’s Best and anniversary awards, and sending welcome packages to new hires.
    • Maintain Human Resources email inbox, responding to inquires in a timely manner.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Payroll:
    • Track and maintain referral, retention, and training bonuses.
    • Process timely and accurate weekly payroll.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

Please note that this is not a remote position. honeygrow’s Restaurant Support Center (HQ) is located in Philadelphia, PA.

Salary range: $58,000 - $68,000 annually
