Quality Inspector (Manufacturing)

The Quality Inspector (Manufacturing)at Kurt J. Lesker Company (KJLC) is responsible for performing visual, dimensional , and leak inspections on standard and complex manufactured components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings , quality standards , and safety requirements . This role works cross‑functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Supervision, and provides technical guidance and mentoring to junior inspectors as needed. This position is ideal for a hands‑on quality professional with experience in mechanical inspection , Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) , Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation , and manufacturing environments.

• Type of Employment: Full-time
• Location: Jefferson Hills, PA
• Division/Department: Manufacturing /Machine Shop
• Reports to: Assistant Manufacturing Manager
• Shift: Daylight, no weekends

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional , and leak inspections using established quality inspection methods and tools
• Verify material, component , and assembly compliance to engineering drawings and specifications
• Inspect standard and complex parts in accordance with first article, in‑process, and final inspection requirements
• Accurately complete inspection reports , logs, and quality documentation
• Follow all safety procedures and quality policies related to assigned work
• Execute work assignments and technical instructions with minimal supervision
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Supervisors, and Manufacturing to resolve quality issues and prioritize work
• Provide technical support, training, and mentoring to junior inspectors
• Support compliance with the company Quality Management System (QMS) and HR policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required:

• 1–5 years of experience in Quality Inspection , Mechanical Inspection , Manufacturing, or Engineering
• Working knowledge of CMM operation
• Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Strong proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience with first article, in‑process, and final inspection
• Basic understanding of a Quality Management System (QMS)
• Proficient with computer systems and quality software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

• Experience with vacuum leak detection or leak testing methods
