THE POSITION

The Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services is looking for a dedicated Food Service Supervisor to lead our food service team and students at Youth Forestry Camp #3. By sharing your skills, you will help us provide excellent meals and give students the opportunity to learn about the food service industry. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will supervise food production, preparation service, inventory control, and sanitation at the camp. You will train cooks and training program students involved in preparation, production, food serving, food storage, sanitation, and safety. This will include assigning, inspecting, and evaluating work. Work will involve making sure that food is prepared according to recipes and that adequate staff is available. You will also request, receive and inspect food supplies and equipment. As a supervisor, you will prepare and maintain records and reports. Additionally, you will attend meetings to discuss any problems and talk about solutions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays.

  • Overtime as needed

  • This may change based on operational needs.

  • Free parking!

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Food Service Worker (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) and/or production experience, and an Associate degree with major course work in food production and food service;or

  • Three years of paid experience in food production and/or service and successful completion of a Certified Dietary Manager course;or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which consists of experience in an institutional setting preparing specialized therapeutic diets, or course work in food production, food service or a related field.
