Job Title: Awning Installer

Location: Pittsburgh
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time / Seasonal (adjust as needed)
Reports To: Installation Manager / Operations Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Awning Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing canvas, retractable, and aluminum awnings for residential and commercial properties. This role requires proficiency in basic carpentry , comfort working at heights, and the ability to deliver high-quality workmanship with attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install canvas, retractable, and aluminum awnings according to company standards and manufacturer specifications.

• Read and interpret blueprints, installation guides, and work orders.

• Measure, cut, and assemble awning frames and support structures using hand and power tools.

• Anchor and secure awnings to various surfaces including wood, brick, vinyl, and concrete.

• Perform basic carpentry tasks such as framing, drilling, and bracing as needed to ensure proper installation.

• Conduct on-site assessments to determine installation needs and challenges.

• Communicate with customers to explain the installation process and address any questions or concerns.

• Ensure all work areas are clean and safe upon job completion.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order.

• Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

• 1+ years of experience installing awnings, canopies, or similar structures (preferred).

• Strong knowledge of basic carpentry and construction principles.

• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.

• Ability to read measuring tools and installation plans accurately.

• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights.

• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license (required).

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical labor for extended periods.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with power- operated/retractable awning systems.

• Welding, electrical, or mechanical aptitude is a plus.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
