Manager of Warehouse / Transportation Operations

A leading specialty item distributor, committed to providing exceptional service to our customers, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Warehouse / Transportation Operations to lead the warehouse and transportation teams.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee Warehouse Operations:
  • Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and slotting strategies to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous safety and sanitation standards.
  • Oversee inventory control and cycle counting processes.
• Lead Transportation Operations:
  • Manage a fleet of 40 trucks, including driver scheduling, route optimization, and maintenance.
  • Negotiate and manage carrier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Monitor and analyze transportation costs and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Budget Management:
  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets for warehouse and transportation operations.
  • Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving measures.
• Team Leadership:
  • Lead and develop a team of 60+ warehouse and transportation associates.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Provide training and coaching to ensure team members are equipped to succeed.
• Technology Utilization:
  • Proficient in utilizing S2K software to manage warehouse operations.
  • Leverage technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Experience as a Director of Operations or similar role in a warehouse environment.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale warehouse and transportation operations.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems, particularly S2K.
• Experience managing budgets and controlling costs.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
