H R Specialist position to supports its Pittsburgh office. The role is responsible for driving recruitment efforts while also supporting key HR and payroll functions.
The ideal candidate will contribute to full-cycle recruiting activities to attract top talent, while also processing and administering payroll across multiple U.S. states in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Additionally, this role also supports core HR functions, including maintaining employee records, benefits coordination, and ensuring tax compliance, while upholding a standard of accuracy, confidentiality, and timeliness.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma/GED required, college degree preferred
· Minimum 3 years of related experience in talent acquisition
· Minimum 2 years HR or payroll (manufacturing environment preferred)
· Experience with payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now, a plus)
QUALIFICATIONS:

· Knowledge of U.S. payroll laws and multistate tax regulations
· Working knowledge of general office administrative and office procedures
· Professional knowledge of Microsoft Office required (especially Excel)

· Ability to multi-task and complete several projects simultaneously
· Team oriented mindset with ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to process, maintain, and disburse confidential and sensitive information
· Working knowledge of HR, recruiting, and payroll practices and applicable laws
· Willingness to travel domestically as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Support full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate sourcing, resume screening, and collaboration with hiring managers
· Assist with candidate outreach, interview scheduling, and follow-up communication to ensure a smooth and professional recruitment process for both candidates and hiring teams
· Build and maintain talent pipelines to support current and future hiring needs, while promoting a positive candidate experience and employer
· Process end-to-end payroll for employees across multiple states on a biweekly schedule, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
· Validate payroll data, reconcile reports, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
· Manage state-specific tax withholdings, unemployment insurance, and compliance with applicable payroll laws and regulations
· Maintain employee payroll records in HRIS/payroll systems and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality
· Support benefits deductions, garnishments, and leave administration
· Respond to employee inquiries and partner with the corporate HR team to address HR-related matters
· Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
· Identify opportunities for process improvements across recruiting, HR, and payroll functions
· Perform other duties as assigned by management
