Assistant Controller

Assistant Controller Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Over 5 years of accounting experience, with a solid grasp of month-end close procedures
• Expertise in advanced Excel functions and tech-savviness
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and work independently
• Experience in supporting internal controls and process improvements
• Familiarity with Sage or similar accounting software is advantageous
• Comfortable with detailed transactional work when needed
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset
• Reliable, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement

Assistant Controller Main Duties:

• Lead and coordinate the entire month-end closing process
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Develop weekly financial summaries for management review
• Assist with cash forecasting and account reconciliations
• Manage credit card transactions and software integration
• Oversee fixed assets, construction in progress, and inventory cycles
• Support complex billing processes and contractual accounting
• Contribute to external audits and internal control enhancements
• Identify efficiencies and streamline accounting procedures
• Oversee and support AP and AR operations
• Mentor and evaluate accounting staff, fostering a team-oriented environment
• Provide excellent internal support to operational teams
• Perform additional analysis and ad hoc accounting projects as necessary
