Custodial Technician

Position Summary

The Warehouse Maintenance & Facility Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment for a landscaping contractor operation. This role supports day-to-day facility needs through routine cleaning, minor repair work, and occasional vehicle-related errands such as transporting company trucks for state or municipal inspections.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Cleaning & Housekeeping

• Sweep and maintain cleanliness of warehouse floors, break areas, and restrooms on a scheduled basis

• Remove trash and debris from inside the warehouse and surrounding exterior areas

Light Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, fixing door hardware, patching walls, and repairing shelving

• Identify and report facility issues (plumbing leaks, electrical concerns, structural damage) to management

• Maintain a basic inventory of maintenance supplies and notify management when restocking is needed

• Perform or coordinate routine upkeep of facility equipment

Vehicle & Errands Support

• Transport company trucks and equipment vehicles to designated inspection stations for state or municipal inspections

• Move and reposition trucks, trailers, and equipment within the yard to support daily operations, loading, and storage organization

• Assist with fueling of trucks, equipment and containers; cleaning of vehicle interiors/exteriors, and basic vehicle readiness checks

• Report any vehicle issues observed during transport to the appropriate supervisor

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required for vehicle transport duties)

• Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.

• Ability to obtain DOT medical card to be able to drive commercial vehicles if needed.

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting to 50 lbs., bending, and prolonged standing

• Basic carpentry, plumbing, or electrical repair knowledge and general maintenance procedures

• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting throughout the shift

• Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions (heat, dust, noise)

• Capable of operating company vehicles safely in local traffic conditions

Work Schedule

Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with availability required on Saturdays as needed.
