Receiving Operations Specialist & Inventory Control

Every day in our Receiving Department begins with a plan: inbound loads to unload, materials to verify, and inventory to position so Production never misses a beat. You’ll be the person who makes sure what arrives is correct, safe, and ready to move—then jump into Shipping as needed to keep orders flowing.

What you’ll take on

• Unload inbound trucks using forklifts and pallet jacks while following ISO work instructions and all written and communicated safety policies.
• Verify each receipt against Bills of Lading and internal POs, checking lots and weights, inspecting for damage, and documenting findings.
• Record small-package receipts in the computer-based receiving log; route packages to the right person or department and submit packing slips to the Purchasing Agent.
• Pull and deliver required samples to the lab for quality checks on incoming materials.
• Enter received materials into the appropriate database and generate/affix inventory tags.
• Put away all items to their designated warehouse locations daily and maintain the inventory quarantine area.
• Return unused materials from production runs to their original home locations after weighing.
• Collect, weigh, and inventory scrap Gaylords accurately.
• Keep inventory precise with routine cycle counts; immediately flag variances or risks to leadership.
• Housekeeping first: keep aisles clear, locations labeled, and damaged inventory repaired, repacked, and relocated each day.
• Provide secondary Shipping support during peak volume or as backup to ensure on-time outbound performance.

Your background

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years in a related environment (warehousing, shipping/receiving, material handling, etc.); prior work in a similar industry is preferred.
• Skills: Comfortable with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; strong data entry accuracy; hands-on forklift experience.

• Other forklifts as required
