Site Director

This position oversees the implementation of one of the Girls. Inc. Out-of-School Time (OST) programs, funded by the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Children and Families. The role is responsible for developing, leading, and executing a high-quality, structured after-school program (September through June) and summer program (June through August) serving students in grades K-8. This program currently operates daily at Heston School; however, the location is subject to change.

General Responsibilities:

Program Management and Development

  • Oversees the compliance and daily management of Girls Inc.’s Out of School Time (OST) Program, in accordance with the Philadelphia School District, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Supervises the Site Supervisor, Support Services Coordinator, and Group Leaders to ensure participants receive a structured, high-quality program that is both engaging and developmentally appropriate. The program hours are Monday-Friday, 3:00-6:00 PM during the academic year, and 8:00 AM-4:30 PM for six weeks during the summer (or as specified by the funder).
  • Responsible for the recruitment, retention, supervision, and documentation of 60 program participants.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, retention, scheduling, and supervision of staff.
  • Works collaboratively with the Site Supervisor to plan, schedule, and implement program sessions that align with Pennsylvania education standards. Ensures that daily activities include literacy, STEM, career exploration, and other enrichment lessons as outlined in the contract.
  • Ensures the program framework aligns with OST best practices, providing activities that are age and developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive, educational, and physically and emotionally safe for both students and staff.
  • Establishes performance standards and conducts performance reviews; coaches, documents, recognizes quality performance, and provides support for direct reports.
  • Reviews program plan with the team before delivery.
  • Develops a system to communicate regularly with families, administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders.
  • Participates and coordinates the facilitation of program team meetings, in-service professional development trainings, and family engagement nights.

Reporting & Evaluation

  • Creates and implements procedures to track program documentation –applications, attendance, records, surveys for purposes of evaluation/reports.
  • Produces written reports on program outcomes as required by funder or supervisor.
  • Completes and manages program operation documentation- compliance, incidental reports, food services, etc.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Fosters relationships with school administrators and teachers to enhance and develop a collaborative work plan.
  • Attends events that support the organization’s mission.
  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of experience working with a diverse population of K-8 students, preferably in a school setting.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field.
  • Must submit up-to-date clearances before employment (FBI criminal, PA Child Abuse History Verification,PA State criminal, and National Sex Ofender Registry).

  • Must be able to report to daily after school program and summer program site as contracted.

Salary & benefits

The salary for this position is $50,000. We offer full-time employees comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, a 403 (b) retirement plan, and Paid Time Off.
